Vision Center Mission Statement, Editorial Guidelines & Product Review Standards

Vision Center is funded by our readers. We may earn commissions if you purchase something via one of our links.

Vision Center’s Mission

Vision Center is a web guide created for anyone who needs eye care or vision correction. Our mission is to provide our readers with the most accurate, helpful, and up-to-date information on eye and vision health.

Our top priority is the health and well-being of our readers. We aim to create medically accurate content that is helpful and easy to understand. We do this by creating content based on medical literature and textbooks, scientific journals, and the most recent research data available.

We hope our hard work helps you make the best decisions for you and your family when it comes to vision correction and eye health treatments.

Vision Center’s Team

Our team includes doctors, journalists, researchers, and professional medical writers. We work together to create the highest quality content in the visual health field. We only publish fact-based articles that are supported by science. We source our content from textbooks, scholarly articles, medical journals, and medical associations. This includes the American Academy of Ophthalmology (AAO), American Optometric Association (AOA), and International Society of Refractive Surgery (ISRS).

Vision Center’s Editorial Process

Every piece of content on Vision Center must pass a meticulous review process. Each article is reviewed at least four times, including a medical review by a licensed optometrist.

Our five step editorial process ensures that our information is always accurate, useful, and up to date:

1. Audience Research

Our content strategy team spends several days each month researching our audience. We use data to find out the most common vision problems people are searching for. We then focus our strategy on answering all of your questions and connecting you to the doctors, services, and products that will help you solve your problems.

2. Research & Writing

Every piece of content is researched thoroughly. We scour textbooks, scientific journals, and high-quality medical sources to learn everything we can on the topic. Once we fully understand the topic, we create non-biased content using simple language so people of all ages can learn from us.

3. Reviews & Edits

When a piece of content is finished, it goes through two in-house reviews. It then is submitted to our staff of medical editors. If any information questionable, we pull it back to research the topic even more. Only content that is medically accurate according to doctors and scientists gets published.

4. Publish to Our Site

Once a piece of content is approved by our medical team, it gets posted to our site. Our team is constantly developing and updating our design to improve our reader’s experience.

5. Constantly Updating

Our content team is constantly reviewing and updating the content on our site. The world of eye health and vision correction is constantly developing new techniques, procedures, and products. Our goal is to provide you with the best information and connect you to the best treatments available. That’s why we’re always reading new research and incorporating it into our information database.

Vision Center’s Product Reviews

Our product reviews are meant to provide you with the most accurate, useful, and recent information about vision and eye health products.

The Vision Center team spends several hours researching and writing every review page. We scour the internet and base all of our recommendations on:

  • Customer reviews
  • Product details and specifications
  • Company reputation and reports
  • Contemporary scholarly articles

Every review is then edited for medical accuracy by our medical reviewer staff. All of our findings are included in our reviews. We only recommend products that have been scientifically proven to be effective. If we find a product to be questionable we include this as well. Our content team is constantly updating and republishing our review pages as new research, products, and opinions are brought to light.

We receive an affiliate commission on some of the products we recommend. However, our sources of funding do not affect our review process or the quality of our content.

Vision Center’s Advertising Policy

Vision Center is reader-funded. Our income comes from forming partnerships with trusted companies and displaying ads on our site.

We research and vet each of our affiliate partners thoroughly. We only partner with businesses that have proven they are capable and committed to providing our readers with high-quality and affordable care.

We never let our partners or advertisers influence the content we create.
